Urban Regalia features unique contemporary jewelry and accessories by painter and multi-media artist Bebonkwe / Jude Norris. Bebonkwe is a Plains Cree/Metis Nation artist from Edmonton, Alberta. She has also made camp at various locations in Canada, the UK & New York City throughout her career. She is now based in Brooklyn, NY. Bebonkwe creates dynamic, cutting edge contemporary artworks in a variety of media including painting, digital collage, photography, installation, video & sculpture.

Bebonkwe’s accessories are often strongly influenced by the regalia worn by the colorful traditional powwow dancers in her home culture & territory. She draws from the stunning & inherent ‘haute couture’ of traditional Native dance regalia & incorporates this cultural aspect into her pieces in innovative ways to create singular adornment pieces.
Bebonkwe also mixes the esoteric style of her Native culture & heritage with the influences of much time spent in the major urban centers of New York & Toronto & London, where she has access & insights into the most contemporary fashion, fine art & urban culture.
