Urban Regalia features unique contemporary jewelry and accessories by painter and multi-media artist Winter Brown. Winter is a Plains Cree/Metis Nation artist from Edmonton, Alberta. She has also made camp at various locations in Canada, the UK & New York City throughout her career. She i snpw based in Brooklyn. Winter creates dynamic, cutting edge contemporary artworks in a variety of media including painting, digital collage, photography, installation, video & sculpture.

Winter has been making unique jewelry throughout her arts career, and thinks of these 'wearable artworks' as small sculptures and paintings. Each Urban Regalia piece is an singular, original artwork, lovingly & meticulously hand-made with great attention to detail.

Winter's accessories are strongly influenced by the regalia worn by the colorful traditional powwow dancers in her home culture & territory. She draws from this stunning traditional 'haute couture' of Native people & incorporates into her pieces for an innovative look.

Winter mixes the visual & esoteric style of her Native culture with the influences of much time spent in the major urban centres of New York & Toronto & London, where she has access & insights into the most contemporary fashion, fine art & urban culture.
